How do we distinguish the basic principles of sustainability? Sustainability can be divided into subtopics in various ways.
Tom and I usually keep it at 3: planet, people, profit. And those 3 can also be subdivided.
Recently I found a list that seemed very interesting to me: social, economic, cultural, and environmental, each of which is subdivided into 6 principles.
This article gives an overview of all our articles that belong to such a subtopic.
Basic principles of sustainability
On the internet, we find all kinds of classifications of the basic principle of sustainability. Some use 3 principles, but 4, 5, and 6 principles also occur. The main conclusion of all these different classifications is that there should be a comprehensive vision and that we do not get lost in just one topic.

I would also add technology to this list! Smart devices, smart home systems, cloud storage, emails etc. Our days are filled with technology, most of the time too much for our own good. All these need a lot of resources to be manufactured and they continue to require energy once we buy them.
