In 2020 there was worldwide 900% more plastic than in 1980. An unbelievable number, don’t you think? I think there is a huge responsibility with the companies that produce plastic objects and wrap their products in plastics. Yet we as consumers can put in an effort as well. It’s not that hard.

There are easy ways to reduce plastic waste for conscious consumers. I agree with the following quote: “We don’t need a handful of people doing zero waste perfectly. We need millions of people doing it imperfectly”.

My mechanical timer failed and I had to look for a replacement. And so I (finally) discovered smart power technology.

Smart power strips save energy. And because the sockets can be controlled independently of each other, I have discovered even more advantages.

At the moment I don’t have much smart power technology at home. What functions well does not have to be discarded the minute we want something else. But some devices will definitely be replaced in the future. It is both good for my long-term sustainability and my wallet since the price of electricity has risen considerably in Spain.

In The Essential Nutrients to have a Balanced Diet I was talking about diets and lifestyles. Through the years my husband Tom and I have developed our own lifestyle, based on our preferences, experiences and (of lately) ailments.

We have to study and know a certain diet or lifestyle before we can decide if we will fully embrace it or take elements out of it. And most of the time we decide the latter. I am so happy that Tom and I both love to try new things and experiment.

Our Green Health is about additions to your food that are beneficial. Usually, we think of capsules and tablets when we think about supplements. Yet, I consider spices, herbs, and vitamins and minerals in food as much a supplement as those ones.

Until a few years ago I had never heard of superfoods. Probably nobody had. 🙂 And all of a sudden they are the talk of the town. Are they really that super and what can be the benefits of superfood?

This article will be about superfoods and is a review of Your Super that sells superfoods in the form of powders.

Be aware that superfood is a marketing term. There is no scientific research to back up some of the claims that are made about superfoods. A one-sided diet is never healthy. So I do eat superfoods myself, but always together with a variety of other (in my eyes) healthy food.
