Why do you have a Soap Allergy? What are Promising Solutions?

From the 70s my parents went on holiday in Spain and brought Maja soap back home with them. The scent of that soap still reminds me of my sun burnt mother who blissfully unwrapped her soap.

The scent was too flowery for me, but what I liked was the paper packaging. I don’t have a soap allergy, but I want sustainable products, including their packaging. Nowadays there is hardly any soap available in Spain that is wrapped in paper. Even in the Eco store, the Marseille soap is wrapped in plastic.

I usually buy my soap at an old crafts market, if I happen to bump into it. Those are usually barren or have a banderole of paper around them. The best soap I have found so far is honey soap, which was a present of a nice beekeeper in the center of Spain.

Global biodiversity dictates the quality of our life. You might compare it with our personal health. It’s one of our most important assets. The reason of course is that it makes us feel good. Yet, there is more. We perform better when we are healthy. Physically and mentally. We measure our wellbeing by our health. Our quality of life is measured by our health.

There are a lot of pines where we live. All the neighbors in our street spray poison against the pine processionary caterpillar. This spraying is totally nonsense and goes against every biodiversity logic. All the natural enemies of this caterpillar live here: the praying mantis, dozens of bats, cuckoos, and the great tit. Our neighbors consciously destroy the habitat of these animals and are a threat to the biodiversity in this area.
